but few are as sought-after as the works of the Paris-based Lalique,
named for its founder René Lalique. At the height of his career in 1900,
Lalique had created jewellery pieces for such prestigious names as
Cartier, Jacta and Boucheron, as well as monumental pieces for ocean
liners and cathedrals, and his company continues to do so today.

His creations were pure and geometrical, yet softened with natural
images of wildlife and the female form that brought spirit to each piece
he created. Many tried to imitate his gracious works – and failed.

The Poséidon Vase is a truly beautiful piece, spectacularly crafted in dichroic crystal rich in shifting colour and vividness. Capturing the majestic nature of Poseidon, god of the sea, this vessel has been masterfully handmade in France using ancient techniques in order to infuse the blue lavender-coloured seahorses to the body of the vase, where delicate cuts mimic the bubbles and waves of the sea.
